4 Guaranteed steps to losing weight the healthy way

Oh no! Bola quipped, I’m so not getting on that scale again because each time I stand on it, reality stares me back…Bola, your weight is still the same.

Hey friends! I know some of you are just in the same fix with Bola but not to worry, a few points shared could get you loving yourself back.

While the love of the scale can be encouraging as it monitors your progress,it should be noted that it can be a deflating equipment. The scale has ruined esteems and increased body shame. The next time you get on a scale,ditch the numbers as the human body is composed of fat weight, water weight, and body waste product weight(inactive bowel movement contributes to weight gain).

If you’re a regular gym or road user, and notice that you have not dropped weight in kgs , check your inches around your waist line, hip, bust and thigh. In a situation, there is no significant weight loss,it simply means that your output-input ratio is either at break-even or surplus (economic terms).

The science to losing weight is to have less calories consumed and expending more working out.

1. Engage yourself in activities that keep you utilising all your major muscle groups to experience a change in your body mass. This could range from Zumba , outdoor or indoor running, jump ropes, high intensity interval training, swimming, aerobics, weight lifting. All these are geared towards keeping you fit and losing weight.

2. Don’t crash diet or else you hop into a yo-yo (slim-fat-fatter-slim cycle). This can be dangerous since you confuse the body and give some of your organs so much work regulating your body changes.

3. Eat right, fuel right and live well: Nutrition has a huge role in shifting weight as you are what you consume. It is advised by the American Society for Nutrition that breakfast, lunch and dinner should be a balanced meal taking all in its right proportions.

4. Understand your body type: people get extremely pissed at those who are ectomorph  (model like body type) because they eat a heapful of meal yet no sign in their bodies. Endomorphs have the ability to store up(voluptuous) and mesomorph are those who build muscles and metabolic rate is second to none.

Bola,got a trainer and has consistently worked to better her body with a knowledge that it is progression over perfection.
On bad days, don’t beat yourself rather maximise all opportunities to be the best version of yourself.
