You see them everywhere, they are readily available for consumption and they appear to cost little – they are processed foods.

One of the problems of our time is the excessive consumption of these refined and highly processed foods. Do you know that the refining process of these foods strip them of their essential nutrients like iron, fibre and B vitamins. This explains why these foods are soft and smooth in texture and have longer shelf lives (some could last for up to a year).

 

 

Have you ever bought a bunch of bananas and in few days, they got spoilt? Do you ever wonder why your fruits and vegetables spoil quickly? Natural foods are high in nutrients and as such, pests are attracted to them, making them spoil quickly. What does this suggest about processed foods? Processed foods are so low in nutrients that pests do not find them appealing and would not want to eat them. Then how healthy and beneficial are these foods to us humans?
These foods are laden with so much fat and sugar by manufacturers to make them appealing to you. They taste so good but their effects are damaging to your health.

Do you consume these foods regularly? you might want to cut back on them. Eat more of home-cooked meals; they are way healthier, more satisfying and cost less.
